Getting Started with GeoMedia SDI Portal

To start working with GeoMedia SDI Portal, open your Web browser and type the URL to the portal in the address field.

SDI Portal can be configured to use the STS (Security Token Service) authentication. There are two methods of authentication supported by the SDI Portal:

  1. Forms – SDI Portal starts with the login form:

    After entering the correct user name and password, the SDI Portal application will run. There will appear a splash screen and the GeoMedia SDI Portal will start.

  2. Windows - Responsible for domain authentication. In domain authentication, the login form does not appear. If the user has permissions, SDI Portal starts automatically; otherwise, the browser will display an error: “401 Unauthorized”

If SDI Portal is not configured to use authentication, a splash screen will appear, and SDI Portal will start.

GeoMedia SDI Portal is ready to use. The URL for GeoMedia SDI Portal will be provided by your system administrator.

GeoMedia SDI Portal consists of the following user interface elements:

  • Splash screen
  • Banner
  • Steering panel (left panel)
  • Toolbar(s)
  • Map window
  • Data window
